It’s our favourite time of the year here at Sister Sensory – the time we get to recommend our favourite presents for the incredible autistic and neuro-diverse people in our lives.

This year, after almost two full years of living through a global pandemic, we thought we’d highlight some of the best sensory stocking stuffers available in Australia. But don’t be fooled; these gifts aren’t just for filling up a stocking. They are brilliant sensory toys designed to engage, educate, and elicit joy!

Read on to see part one of our Top Stocking Stuffers for Christmas 2021.

1. Calm down bottle – Jellystone Tactile – Visual – Fidget

sistersensory

We collaborated with The Creative Toy Shop to bring you this unique sensory bottle for focused, calm play. Use sensory bottles to help children self-regulate breathing and thoughts and improve their focus, so it felt natural for Jellystone Designs to develop the Calm Down Bottle to complement our range of Kid’s Chew Pendants.

The Calm Down Bottle is a unique DIY sensory bottle, where you receive all the creative elements you need to create a sensory bottle perfect for your child.

2. Kinderboards  Balance and Movement

Okay, we admit it; this might be hard to fit in a Christmas stocking. The Kinderboard multi-use toy helps children develop a sense of balance, stimulate their vestibular system, and gain a deeper awareness of their body and body parts. You can rock, balance, push, spin, flip and slide on it.

3. Plasma Ball Tactile – Visual

The Plasma ball reacts to touch and sound, making it perfect for encouraging hand-eye coordination and vocal development – even better, it looks super cool!

4. JINX Luminous Jellyfish – Visual – Calming

18 LEDs colour this brightly illuminated tank which can phase through an automatic colour change transition, or you can hold it on your favourite colour. The silicone skin of the jellyfish reflects the colour changes, with the blue LEDs producing an incredible neon effect.

5. Sensory Projection Lamp – Visual – Calming

The delightful colours and shapes created by this Sensory Projection Lamp are visually appealing and very calming. The perfect antidote to a stressful day, this lamp is sure to calm even the fussiest child.

6. Zoingo Boingo Pogo – Outdoor – Balance – Movement

This super cool pogo stick features an elastic Zoingo Cord to stretch your height and flex with all your tricks and moves. Excellent for burning off excess energy, the Zoingo Boingo Pogo will help keep your child focused and happy.
