The action of pushing against the resistive fabric benefits those with tactile defensiveness as well as sensory seekers.  Sensory Matters’ body socks are designed to allow the individual to have their head inside or outside, according to personal preference.  Once inside, the child/adult can partially see through the fabric.

The body sock can become a calming, safe haven for a child who is overloaded with sensory input and who needs to self-regulate.

The lycra resistance can provide proprioceptive feedback and can also help the child develop their body strength and coordination.

Once inside the sock, kids will enjoy a range of activities and games. Use a mirror to strike different poses, a lamp in a dark room to create silhouettes or free play to create whatever they like!

For more of a challenge, ask them to complete tasks that would be simple outside the sock but more difficult in it, like walking across a room to pick up an item off a table.

Many children and adults love them for their calming effect.

As a guide you want the height of the sock to match the child. These need to be tight!
