The Numerule is an easy to use hands on maths teaching aid WITHOUT lots of parts. The Numerule can replace OR be used in conjunction with existing maths aids used in the classroom. It’s well placed to assist children with the Australian Maths Curriculum.
THE INVENTOR John LOVES MATHS and he is an enthusiastic and committed primary school teacher for over 30 years. Most of his teaching has centered on older primary school students, so when his principal asked him to teach in the early years classes it was certainly an experience. This interaction with the younger students inspired the development of this awesome new tool.
Younger students certainly have a lot of fun with educational learning aids in the classroom. Many of these aids in mathematics can be small, easily lost and sometimes used in a fashion for which they were not really intended… yes you guys know exactly what we mean 🙂 Time is limited in the classroom, with many bases to cover and John thought time spent packing up could be better used.
Quite simply the Numerule he has designed does not only reduce pack up time, it helps students to focus more readily on distinct areas of mathematics, such as simple operations, number recognition and measurement. It also saves space, travels with the child and does not involve small easily lost pieces.
Just some key benefits of the Numerule are:
- replaces many current messy concrete mathematical aids
- efficient, time saving and tidy
- stimulates creativity and recognition of numbers
- ease of use builds confidence in children
- ability for children to learn math anytime, anywhere
The Numerule has been designed to be a robust everyday ruler with a nigh impact tactile/concrete feature that can strongly focus students on a variety of key mathematical concepts across the key content of the Australian Curriculum.
The Numerule is particularly excellent in assisting younger students in fast tracking their understanding of simple mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
